Follow the river ©

I lie here lonely on the river

While willows weep and beckon hither

I sit back, enjoy scenery;

Meander round subjective love

Dally past the streets above

Where lovers, poets, liars sit and sing

They gaze into the watery mess

Vanity will paint the rest

They see only what they want to see;

I am left with emptiness

A floating bottle, helpless;

Witness to the world’s hypocrisy;

A lonely sole that set adrift

Searching for romantic bliss

Let’s hope Destiny hasn’t forgotten me.

At least I hope it still believes

In Holy Ghost and trinity

As Fraude’s dilemma swirls me round

The cat doth sink – deeper down

And whirlpools gurgle on their duty

I ignore the forty beauties

I don’t want to be more debris

So I continue on my way

As light dawns upon another day

No anchor to stop the sway

Heaving current must be obeyed.
