(There should be an image of some old, unwanted furniture on the street waiting for collection, and on top a Teddy Bear with a love heart, but the URL has gone and I can’t paste the image!)
It’s time for change, my sweet old friend
Though you brought me happiness,
From that fateful night, when we did meet,
And you awoke a sleeping heart.
But you and he are but One;
A One I cannot bear:
Hurtful lies, deceit, distrust
Means for you I should not care.
Hope, and joy, and love, and life,
Now all lays in the past
Place and time which don’t exist
Regretfully, we must part.
To me you’ll always mean so much
One who changed the shape of life,
To say goodbye, I feel I must
Now hatred grows inside.
Etiquette encourages me,
to show you to the door,
Old feelings well; my head doth spin
And a tear falls from my eye.
