Poisoned minds © (poem)

What is wrong with everyone?

What do you think you are doing?

The longer You, let this go on

Closer Future is to going.

Gullibility is a trait

That nobody wants to claim,

A ripped suitcase – going round and round

With only Jones’ knickers been left in.

You believe in every word,

As long as it’s in ink,

Even when – most has been crossed out

And the rest been pencilled in.

All follow the piper,

Who knows not the way,

And when impudence dares to ask

He replies come following day.

Like lemmings to the sea,

For sure you all return,

So he marches round and round:

Two semi-circles – both in reverse.

Nobody truly knows the right

But all seem gowned to judge,

And when the menu disagrees

You quickly blame the cook.

You must not blame the guilty

For you support them through and through

Besides you think they’re innocent

Ignoring all they do.

It’s easy to paint the dull

When sitting in bad light

But harder to – see the truth

When hearing a false right.

Destroying goodness in a soul

For pocket full of money,

Taken from a serpent tongue

Ignoring the hand is envy.

So who is the fool, the fool himself,

Or the fool that follows?

Time to be, honest with ourselves,

We All are one and t’other.
