Don’t leave manners behind © (lyrics/poem)

A boy wears a dress, a girl wears a dress too,

But not the same one, cause, it’s hard to move

Whatever you wear… it’s up to you

It’s none of my business… in your space what you do,

But you’re crossing the line, when you’re encroaching on mine

Without please and thank you, days won’t smile at you…

Don’t leave manners behind…

We’ll get on fine.

A boy on a bike, on the pavement he rode

Shouting ‘excuse me’, so the people they knew

To get out of his way… before it’s too late

But he never said please… they passed at a squeeze;

And the mothers with pushchairs, elderly too… felt it was wrong…

As he waved a thank you… like dismissing a dog;

Don’t leave manners behind…

We’ll get on fine

A man walks to work, he’s a little bit late

He tries to speed up, over the road he must get

Cars going fast nowhere…still he can’t find a gap;

They look at him stood there… with no time to lose

But every few seconds… a few metres must move

Don’t leave manners behind…

We’ll get on fine.
