The girl with a space in her heart (Lyrics)

.

Every day has a beginning and end

Colours have a time to fade,

Petals on a flower will wilt and wither

Bubbles rise out of lemonade;

Parties have a time to close the door

Balloons will shrivel and burst

Seasons pass us by from one to another

While happiness can turn to hurt

But the saddest thing I ever saw

Was the girl with a space in her heart,

Her soul weighed heavy, and dragged her down

As she swam through damp, foggy dark;

Her eyes were masked, tears couldn’t be seen

As she feigned all emotions,

And she hid away from all, but me,

Yet I only ever caught her reflection.

Every race has a beginning and end

Victory only turns to loss,

Ink in a pen will one day run dry

A bottle will drip it’s last drop;

Christmas comes and goes once a year

Childhood learns to grow up

Seasons pass us by from one to another

While happiness can turn to hurt

But the saddest thing I ever saw

Was the girl with a space in her heart,

Her soul weighed heavy, and dragged her down

As she swam through damp, foggy dark;

Her eyes were masked, tears couldn’t be seen

As she feigned all emotions,

And she hid away from all, but me,

Yet I only ever caught her reflection.

When the work is not viewed and shared, the artist loses hope, and the birth of new art ceases to be imagined)
