What have you done to me? (Lyrics/Poem)

Past the point of forgiveness

You’re one step short of shame

Too close to change direction

Too late to escape blame

I’m hidden in the open

Running from the pain

.

What have you done to me?

What purpose did you believe?

A selfish game of pretend

Upon which destiny depends

.

You’re just a scourge

Stricken on this world

.

How will you qualify

On the day that you arrive

To the point of no return

Where everyone will know the truth

.

What have you done to me?

What purpose did you believe?

A selfish game of pretend

Upon which destiny depends

.

You’re just a scourge

Stricken on this world

.

Will it be worth the wait?

Reach your summit of obsessive peak

And lying there for you to find

Secrets behind these saddened eyes

.

What have you done to me?

What purpose did you believe?

A selfish game of pretend

Upon which destiny depends

.

You’re just a scourge

Stricken on this world

.

When the work is not viewed and shared, the artist loses hope, and the birth of new art ceases to be imagined.
