Giving up my single life (Lyrics)

It’s a pretty morning, in a corner, of this closed off world;

The great estates, they replicate, games played in our childhood.

Some succeed, and some will fail, finding love and hate in symmetry;

But rules will change – it’s so unfair, pushing us to bigotry

.

Tell me:

Who do you talk to when there’s no one there?

Who do you turn to when no one cares

Take a listen, hard:

Hear the angels cry

– while the devil’s stood laughing –

Forcing me to commit,

Move over from where I sit,

Giving up my single life

– Brothers cry with me –

Giving up my single life

.

Pack of cards, is shuffled, divided into two…

Each one is turned, showing the face, of a joker, meaning I lose.

A rigged up deck, it sails away, just to be marooned,

It’s clear to me – no matter how long it’s been – My boat has come too soon

.

Tell me:

Who do you talk to when there’s no one there?

Who do you turn to when no one cares?

Take a listen, hard:

Hear the angels cry

– while, the devil’s stood laughing –

Forcing me to commit,

Move over from where I sit,

Giving up my single life

– Brothers cry with me –

Giving up my single life

.

It’s a tragedy, for all to see – rigged from the very start

Beggars the beggar’s belief:

Because, nobody should pay that price

.

Tell me:

Who do you talk to when there’s no one there?

Who do you turn to when no one cares?

Take a listen, hard

Hear the angels cry

– while the devil’s stood laughing –

Forcing me to commit,

Move over from where I sit,

Giving up my single life

– Brothers cry with me –

Giving up my single life

.

When the work is not viewed and shared, the artist loses hope, and the birth of new art ceases to be imagined.. yeah, yeah, I’m no good, nobody views, so it doesn’t really matter anyway!
